Wonder Wonder Wonder !!!

PART ONE

I wonder what we will account for if truly God exist and there is an event which no one can give excuse or apply court injunction to repeal the result called the judgment day.
There is no mathematical expert or forensic expert that can detect the fault o the creator of our knowledge and self righteousness can be nullified with the foolishness of the earth so why claim to know all or to be better than a fellow human by right, privilege or power.

I hear from time to time that all power belongs to God so why on earth do we crave for power to rule, acquire and oppress? Till now I am not able to explain the reason I open for lecture and mind rubbing. There is a popular Yoruba adage that says "gbogbo wa l'lole, eni ti ile ba mo ba ni barawo” meaning “we are all thieves and the person caught with his finger in the pot of soup is the main thief”.

Doesn't that sound confusing or funny? To me it is the absolute truth about the situation, lifestyle and corporate practice in Nigeria. There is no amount of ICPC, EfCC and other forensic expert that be used to sanitize Nigeria of corruption even inviting the world no 1 FBI and KGB to assist the operation they will eventually fail.

It is not out of disbelief or loss of trust in the Nigerian system or trying to condemn a failed state without remedy but just trying to pass the message across to whoever is concerned to reason with the write up which is open for judgment and criticism.

Religion, power and money have always been the weapon of destruction for every nation but they failed to see the warnings and hand writings on the wall. Religion intolerance is far from the content of my write up, if it should be part of it, Boko Haram wouldn't have come into existence or other religion fanaticism we experience today in Nigeria.

All over the world Nigeria is known and noted for the super rich citizens and the genetic affluence of brainy and smarter than Smartphone in our blood. However, accountability that would have been the antidote to our problem has been neglected over the years by successive governments since independent. The only King that tried to account for the number of his citizen was punished severely by the Creator in the scriptures by failing to realize that it was God that gave the auction and capacity to do such.

In this write up I am trying to figure out how much I will have in my savings after retirement apart from paying my rent, bills and other unforeseen charges with taxes, it is just receiving 490 pay cheques that will not amount to N5million considering the inflation, economic changes and recesses. If we have to be truthful and have rethink how much each individual should have after retirement I guess we should have just average and comfortable citizens in Nigeria instead of the increasing few super rich men and women among over 178million people in Nigeria.

Amazingly the rich are getting richer while the average are getting poor then the poor are dying into extinction. Hell is let loose when the poor that are getting into extinction stole from the rich or average it is call a criminal case but when the super rich steals from millions of people it is termed business! Really it doesn't tally or add up here, everybody still in the process of survival or trying to survive it is natural but not divine, but the super rich has perfected the system to favor them at every point but disfavor others.

A popular saying “Eko o ni baje O baje ti” and “Nigeria na we own”. But I beg to differ that it is not so for everyone in Nigeria and Lagos, there was a particular day a man's daughter and wife was taped in his presence and was forced to sign out his wife to a super rich since that day, Nigeria and Lagos are for the few, not for everybody but for the few.

If the super rich has perfected the system that guide us then what is the hope of a common man in Nigeria?

Watch out for Part TWO

Be Alert: 8 Bad Habits You Pick Up At Your Office

If you’re frequently in the habit of working through your lunch or skipping your lunch, it can cause you to over-eat later and cause your metabolism to slow down.
Did you know that there are some bad habits you pick up at work that you could be carrying into your everyday life? We might think that work would be the last place that you’d pick up bad habits but it does happen! Although we think we’re the most productive and at our best while we’re at work that could be the reason why we pick up these habits! Take a gander at these bad habits you pick at work and see if you identify with any of them!

1. BAD POSTURE
One of the worst bad habits you pick up at work is sitting for hours in a chair or desk that’s not adjusted for your height. If you have to hunch forward or strain to reach your keyboard or mouse, it can cause painful back problems in the long run. In addition to getting your workstation adjusted at work, make sure your computer set-up at home is also appropriate for your height so you’re comfortable and sitting tall.

2. SQUINTING
Another bad work habit that I’m guilty of is squinting and straining to see my computer monitor. This is especially common amongst laptop users since the keyboard is attached so close to the monitor. It can be hard to place the laptop at an appropriate distance that?s comfortable for both your back, head and eyes. The best thing to do is to get a separate keyboard if possible, otherwise try using a desktop computer.

3. CROSSING YOUR LEGS
Crossing your legs isn’t exactly a bad work habit but it’s something we commonly see at the workplace. Crossing your legs might feel good momentarily but it’s bad for your back and you’re increasing your risk of spider and varicose veins by interfering with blood flow! Instead of crossing your legs, try crossing your ankles only and shift ankles every once in a while.
4. SKIPPING LUNCH
Skipping your lunch might sound like an easy way to cut major calories but it’s not as good as it sounds! If you’re frequently in the habit of working through your lunch or skipping your lunch, it can cause you to overeat later and cause your metabolism to slow down. Eating while you’re distracted is totally unsatisfying, so why not take advantage of your well-deserved breaks?!

5. SITTING FOR HOURS
Sitting down for long periods of time is bad. Our bodies were made to move so when we spend extended amounts of time just sitting, it can do us more harm than good. According to an article by CBS news, the electrical activity in your legs slows down, your body effectively stops burning calories and the risk of diabetes goes up. Those are just a few of the things that can happen when we sit for prolonged periods. Take frequent breaks and stand while working when you can.

6. CRADLING THE PHONE
If you’re lucky enough to work at place that offers headsets instead of the traditional phone, great! If not, avoid cradling your work phone and your personal cell phone between your shoulder and ear as much as possible. Not only is this move painful, you can cause tension in your neck, pinch a nerve or give yourself a headache.

7. OFFICE POLITICS
Another one of the bad work habits that we pick up is getting involved in office politics. It can be fun to get involved with office chit chat but it can be unproductive and it can make you appear like a gossip. While hearing about office gossip can be unavoidable, keep it to a minimum and focus more on work so you avoid office drama.

8. BAD ATTITUDE
I think we’ve all worked with someone or a group of people who love to gripe about work. It might be fun to vent your frustrations about your workplace or boss once in a while. But, if you start out every day with a negative attitude and engage in negative talk about work, you might find yourself in an endless cycle of negativity. Try spending time around positive, upbeat people at work and try to maintain a positive attitude.

We spend the majority of our waking hours at work so it’s not surprising that we pick up a few bad habits here and there. If you find that you have picked up some of these bad work habits, the good news is that they are totally reversible! You can change all these bad habits into good ones if you keep at it! Do you have any bad work habits?

40 Ways To Make Money From Your Online Community

Back in September 2014 I suggested 10 ideas to make money from your online Town or Community. Now we’re going to go for 50. As a rule, you should only try to sell things that your community wants to buy, items and services that mean something to your community.

1. Adverts. If you’re lazy, use Google Ads. If you’re smarter approach proper advertisers.

2. Hosting events. Arrange events, sell for tickets. Charge for sponsorship of the event too.

3. Hire a photographer. Hire a photographer at the event, sell framed images of the events.
4. Sell community bracelets. Imagine wearing a bracelet that only fellow members would recognize. That’s cool…for some people.

5. Sell t-shirts. How cool is your community? Cool enough for me to wear a T-shirt? Then let me sell some.

6. Build communities for a living. Works for me.

7. Tell others how to build online communities for a living. Good work, if you can get it.

8. Offer custom forums for individuals. Want to have your own forum on the site? Pay up.

9. Charge for membership. Make your community valuable and charge for membership.

10. Charge to remove members. Want a member removed, that will cost $25. Try not to use this too often.

11. Yearbooks. Create a hard copy yearbook every year, charge $20 for a copy.

12. Ask for donations. Works for some communities.

13. Limited edition products. Offer limited/customized products from your client only to your community – at a premium.

14. Sell market research opportunities. Invite market research firms to conduct research in your community.

15. Write a community eBook. Sell the eBook to non-members.

16. Sell adverts in the eBook. If all your members are going to read it, get a good deal.

17. Offer profile customization. Want a special customization, charge a reasonable price.

18. Negotiate bulk discounts. Buy books/products your community is likely to buy in bulk, and sell copies on the cheap. Agree discount codes, magazines do it all the time.

19. Sell shares in your community. Turn your community into it’s own business and sell shares to its members.

20. Secure speaking opportunities for members. Charge a % of the fee.

21. Job boards. Still advertising, but more useful advertising.

22. Partner with head-hunters/major recruiters. Give head-hunters/major recruiters access to your community.

23. Become a head-hunting/recruitment business. Who knows your industry better than you? Surely you can fill vacancies in your industry?

24. Sell the community site. Not very nice, but you could just sell the community and move on.

25. Create a weekly TV show. Sell for access to watch it.

26. Charge to let banned members return. Let banned members pay a fee to rejoin the community.

27. Charge a listen-only fee. For lurkers that just want access, charge a fee. The more a member participates the less they pay.

28. Open-source opportunities. You have a group of people enthusiastic about the industry, let companies open-source elements of their work to your community. For a fee.

29. Custom eBay. Help members sell products to each other, and charge a small % of the fee.

30. Sell training/coaching. Where appropriate build a mini-business where your top members can sell training/coaching to each other.

31. Ask members to help design their dream products. Then create them and sell the products to the community.

32. Invite VIPs/Experts to give online lectures/sessions. Sell either advertising within them or access to watch them.

33. Affiliate marketing. Timeless classic, take a % of products members buy through your community. Rate and screen for quality.

34. Virtual gifts. They’re annoying, but a lot of people like them. Charge a tiny fee to send virtual gifts to each other.

35. Create a currency. Create a scale whereby members can convert their ratings/scores into an online currency which can buy other items on this list. They can also buy/sell this currency to each other.

36. Idea-storms. Let a business throw a problem out to the community, and the community try to generate as many solutions as possible.

37. Start official communities. If a business is having trouble starting their own community, offer to promote it in your community for a fee.

38. Gambling. Illegal for most communities. Start a predictions service where members can make predictions on the future of your industry.

39. Design and sell posters. Design and sell posters that have a special meaning and significance to your community.

40. Charge for a new site design. The Ryanair approach, charge members for the things they want changed in the community.

We have rolled out training for over 50,000 interested Online Town Manager across Lagos State for now. There are reasons to make money from the community you have spent nearly your entire life. Take a cut for your effort.

When you try an idea, let me know by contacting me via email: town.ng@gmail.com or contact me via contact me button at the panel button. Above you have some good, bad and rather whacky ideas. Good luck.

Top Ten Ways to Inspire Others to Be Their Best

We all know people who are inspiring. But just how does one inspire others? Here are ten simple ways you can inspire people to be their best:

1. Be a good example. People watch what you do more than they listen to what you say. Be someone worth emulating.

2. Care about others. People don't care about how much you know until they know how much you care. Ask questions. Take a genuine interest in people.

3. Encouragement. Everyone goes through tough times. When you support people and encourage them through these times, you’ll be inspiring them to see the best in themselves and in the situation.

4. Be inspired yourself. Look for people, ideas, environments and knowledge that you find inspiring and motivating.

5. Share from your own experience. You have more to share than you realize. Mine the rich experiences of your life and share your wisdom from your unique point of view. You may be the only one who can touch someone with your inspiring message.

6. Be vulnerable. Be willing to share your failures as well as your successes. Others will relate to you. They’ll understand that they’re not the only ones with challenges.

7. Tell stories. Facts tell and stories sell. They inspire, too. We learn best from parables and we all need to develop our own inspiring stories.

8. Be a good communicator. Increasing your ability to communicate effectively is a critical element for you to inspire others. Watch how you speak and what you say. Invest in your communication skills.

9. Challenge people. Many of us have had teachers who at times seemed more like tormentors than mentors. They challenged us to do our best, and we were better for it. Practice "carefrontation"—the careful and caring confrontation of others.

10. Read. It may not follow that all readers are leaders, but certainly all leaders are readers. Stay informed. Share what you read with others. Tell people about books that have inspired you. Share the knowledge.

7 Habits of Financially Free People

1.  Your Financial Status is Your Choosing, Be Proactive not Reactive. Be Self-Aware, Use your imagination, will and conscience.

2.  Set a Goal for your Finance and Begin with the end in mind! You can't navigate effectively and efficiently if you don't start with the end.

3.  Some things are important and not presently urgent, schedule them. Some things are emergencies already, fix them. Some are designed to waste your time either delegate or eliminate them. Put first things first for your finances.

4.  Money will always come to you through others, always think Win-Win. You need to live with the paradigm of abundance not scarcity. Creation, not competition.

5.  If you will get the most value from a relationship, you need to seek first to understand before being understood. You have 2 ears and 1 mouth; you should use the ears more.

6.  Your greatest financial breakthrough will happen when you achieve absolute synergy with others. If one of you can make N100, 000, two of you can make N1, 000,000. It's why partnerships have higher success rates.

7. Sometimes we waste energy because we have refused to regularly keep ourselves effective by sharpening our financial intelligence saws. Regularly renew and review, sit with a mentor and move with friends that will help you grow financially.

Online Town Management - the next BIG thing!

I am who I am, a product of not only of my education, family or social life but importantly of my community. I can’t be Mark Zuckerberg the owner of Facebook or the mighty Bill Gates of Microsoft; neither will I claim to be Alhaji Aliko Dangote the richest man in Africa or the popular Dr. Mike Adenuga of Glo.

I am just me, a product of my community experience and internet crusader with passion for simple technology solution to real life challenges. On various occasions in the past, I have walked into different financial institutions to seek for support in respect of a project you are witnessing today.

Nigeria has been a consuming nation yet we have witnessed tremendous policies over the years to make us a producing nation for the better. The purpose of this write up is to alert you beforehand about this project before the video and its purpose go viral on the internet.

Successful nations are built with simple technologies based on thriving communities through thriving families. We may not be interested in the colossal figures of cost of running a democratic government in Nigeria at every level as a nation but individually will and must be interested in how much we spent on our families.

Families makes homes, homes makes communities, communities transforms to states and to nation of nations. No matter how good you are with figures, you are categorically not to be able to tell me the number of the following:

Number of barbing salon in your town
Number of churches, mosques and other religious organization in your town or state.
Number of LGAs and CDAs in your town
Financial allocation to your LGA in the state budget
Number of canteens, restaurants, eateries, night clubs, hospitals, clinics and viewing centers in your town, and so on

The question is How Can I convert These Figures to Monetary Use Either Offline or Online that will benefit me and my community?

Bringing the result to use is an under-statement but the BIG REAL QUESTION is: How Can These Facts Bring Economic Growth, Infrastructural Development to My Town/Community that will put money into my pocket and that of others?

We intend to bring only Nigerian organizations, indigenous firms and individual entrepreneur into the project but we realize that foreign firms have one thing or the other inside indigenous firms.

The answer we are providing here is not the total solution to various challenges facing Nigeria as a country but will be able to address the following at a capacity:

Loss of Job, Unemployable Graduates and Mass Unemployment
Information Misrepresentation
Mass Urban Migration
Educational Certificate and Credential Syndrome
Deplorable Infrastructure begging for Maintenance
Degrading and disregarding the Physically Challenged in our society
Insecurity and Late Responses to Emergency
Over bloated Budgets and Allocations
Irrelevant Financial Policies Killing SMES
Myth of Insurance Policies
Financial Scams and Fake Product Distribution Network
Discouragement of Local Production
Smuggling Points and Entries
Non Implementation and compliance of Contracts, Budgets and Laws and many more

At town.ng we convert these information and data into money, converting wealth to waste, creating opportunity out of what you don't consider to be valuable, it is not MAGIC it is the method of using simple things for important things.

Exporting from Nigeria: 10 Tips to Avoid Being Scammed

If you are already in the Nigerian exportation industry or conversant with the happenings therein, then it’s no news that people get scammed and ripped off of their hard earned money sometimes. You advertise your export products on the internet, a supposed manufacturer or agent contacts you showing interest in your goods, you enter into a contract with them and fulfill your own end of the bargain but when it’s time for them to fulfill theirs, they disappear into thin air.

It’s a very terrible situation to find one’s self in. Some of the scammers are even so organized that they provide you with a letter of credit only for you to find out at the end of the day that it was all a fluke. As a new or regular exporter, it is important to find out ways of protecting yourself and your business from fraudulent overseas buyers. This article would teach you 10 tips to avoid being scammed when exporting from Nigeria and even other countries.

1. Do a Background Check-: Don’t get too excited when you get a sales offer. You must first take time to do a background check on the company and find out whether it’s a legit company or not. You can ask for help from the embassy where the buyers company is based in. For instance, if it’s a Chinese company, the Chinese embassy in Nigeria should be able to confirm whether or not the company is legitimate. If it’s an individual buyer and not a company, the embassy can also help you investigate the person through the country’s citizen’s database. You can also conduct a background check through internet search engines.

2. Check the Company’s Website-: Almost every company has a website these days especially if it’s a large company hence, you can ask for the company’s website to confirm some of the details about the company that you have already been given. Some small companies may not have a website but they would at least have a registered office, phone number and a business license. You should ask for this information from them and investigate to know whether it’s a company that is licensed to do business in the said country.

3. Watch Out for the E-mail Address-: When you see e-mails from personal addresses, you should be very careful with dealing with such people. A serious company would have a business website e-mail address that would be used in contacting suppliers; when you get supposed company e-mails from personal e-mail addresses like @yahoo.com or @hotmail.com; your scam alert should be very high at this point. To find out if an e-mail address is from a company webmail or a personal address, copy the letters after the ‘@’ sign and use your search engine to find out.

4. Use an agent-: There are a lot of companies that provide agency services to exporters. They would help you arrange a meeting with the buyer and investigate the business to determine if it is a legitimate business or otherwise. Although this might raise the cost of your business a little bit, you would wish you had taken that step if you fall into a scam trap. You may also use family members or friends that stay in the country the buyer is from or if you can afford it, arrange a trip to the said country to see things for yourself. This is something you should really consider especially if it’s a large order.

5. Investigate Scam Reports-: If it’s a potential scam, it’s possible that you are not the first person the buyer has tried to rip off. It’s most likely that they would have done it to a couple of people before contacting you. This is why it would help to investigate scam reports against a company or person you are planning to do business with. Again, the internet would be of help; copy the company or buyers name and the word ‘scam’ and then paste it in your search engine; it would pull up any previous scam reports filed against the company in the past. For instance, if the name of the company is ‘cupcake limited’; you would post the words ‘cupcake limited scam’ in your search engine to see if it would bring up any scam reports about the company. You can also do the same for an e-mail address or a business website.

6. Use E-mail Backtracker-: You can find out the buyer’s real identity as well as his IP address using e-mail backtracker. You see, when it comes to protecting your business from scam, no step is too much to take because scammers also spare no costs or energy to pull a perfect job. Therefore, you must always bring in your ‘A’ game whenever you are considering doing business with an overseas buyer; take as many steps as is necessary to ensure that your investments are safe. A popular website that offers this kind of backtracking service is abika.com.

7. Ask for all the information you need-: You should try to ask as many questions as you feel would be necessary to help you form an opinion. Don’t be scared to ask the buyer questions. If he has nothing to hide and represents a legitimate company, he wouldn’t have any problem giving you all the information you need.

8. Use Government Trade Sites-: Trading on government established trade sites is also a good way to protect yourself because illegitimate companies and buyers know better than to bring their tricks on a government website.

9. Don’t ignore your guts-: If you have a feeling that something doesn’t seem right, don’t ignore those red flags. Sometimes, we are so eager to make money that we ignore warning signs and end up blaming ourselves for doing so. If you don’t want to be in that position, you must never ignore your guts.

10. Never let down your guard-: Some scammers are so organized and tricky that they would deal with you for some time and then close to end of the deal, they would try to pull some stunts; never back down or accept terms and conditions that you are unsure of because at the end of the day, it’s not worth it.
